Susan Jack RN PhD FCAN
Professor, School of Nursing & Associate Member, Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence & Impact, McMaster University, Visiting Professor, University of Eastern Piedmont
Dr. Jack has 20 years of experience in teaching and conducting applied qualitative health research and mixed methods. Her program of research is focused on the development, evaluation, and implementation of community-based interventions to improve maternal-child health outcomes and prevent family violence. She is passionate about sharing practical guidance on how to design rigorous qualitative studies and how to use qualitative evidence in decision-making.
Dr. Bassi is an early career researcher at the University of Eastern Piedmont in Italy. With a PhD in Nursing Science, her expertise includes evidence-informed decision-making, quality improvement, and nursing-sensitive indicators measurement. She is currently involved in projects related to models of nursing care delivery employing qualitative health research methods to identify factors influencing implementation.
Dr. Orr’s program of research incorporates arts-based methods into qualitative health research design and knowledge mobilization strategies. She is a co-lead of an international project that aims to promote and prioritize emotional wellbeing among researchers conducting emotionally demanding research.
Dr. Whitmore is an early career researcher with a keen interest in qualitative health research methods including in the use of health intervention design and evaluation. Using collaborative care models, her applied research program is focused on health care optimization and integrated care delivery to support a better and more equitable health system.
Dr. Campbell’s program of research focuses on the intersections of women’s health with physical and social geography. She has taught graduate-level courses in qualitative health research and designed and conducted multiple qualitative projects using a broad range of study designs and approaches to analysis.
